This lioness began as an original oil painting that was created to help build the first children’s library in Kenya. Tim and his wife, Stephanie, are long-time supporters of the Camp Ohana Founation, a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to helping turn the “forgotten children” of Kenya into global citizens through a multitude of programs including health and wellness, sports, clean water, music & dance, and sustainable farming. Tim’s personal favorite – “The Wildlife Defenders” program teaches kids the importance of native wildlife for ecology and tourism, as well as how to protect their wildlife against poachers.

In 2015, Tim and Stephanie helped spearhead a crowd-funding campaign to build the library. With a series of paintings (including this one) and with the help of countless people, the library was fully funded. Construction was completed in 2016 and has held weekly Wildlife Defenders programs since. Tim and Stephanie will be visiting Kenya in 2019 to check on the library and the kids (and take photos of the near-by wildlife, of course.) Follow on Instagram to keep up with updates and to find out how you can be involved.
